We shall always place education side by side with instruction; the mind will not be cultivated at the expense of the heart. While we prepare useful citizens for society, we shall likewise do our utmost to prepare citizens for heaven.
Monday marks the feast of St. Frances Cabrini. Here are a few prayers associated with the Italian nun who founded the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and became a champion for poor immigrants in the United States.
Prayer Intention
We pray for all military veterans, who have made great sacrifices and risked life and limb in the service and defense of their countries. May God bring solace to all who have suffered great injury or trauma in their service, and may the love of Christ move in our world hasten the end to all warfare and usher in an era of peace.
"Therefore, stay awake, for you know neither the day nor the hour."
Matthew 25:13
